People throw the word “plagiarism” around way too easily. 

“OMG, 12 seconds of Gaga’s ‘Born This Way’ sounds kind of similar to Madonna’s ‘Express Yourself’. She fucking plagiarized Madonna. What a hack.”

You want to act like Gaga goes around stealing from people, yet you fail to acknowledge that Gaga is one of the only current popstars who hasn’t been taken to court and/or convicted of actual plagiarism. My logic is that if she actually, truly went around stealing from people, those people would try to take her to court and/or seek compensation because of how successful everything she does becomes. But guess what, that doesn’t happen because most of you base your plagiarism claims on the fact that she dare shoot part of her video in black or white like Madonna or she wore the same shirt as Britney Spears in 2002. That’s not plagiarism and none of those claims would hold up in court.

I hate when a queer person is killed and the media makes it all about their sexuality. When you do that, you’re basically sending a message to the public that says being queer is a reason to be killed when it’s not. Yes, some people are targeted and murdered for being queer, but not every queer person is killed because they’re queer. Maybe they were killed because they did something bad, or because they were an asshole, or maybe it was just a random act of violence. Stop acting like a queer person’s most important trait is their sexuality. You never hear “straight female killed in an alley,” do you?
