For the past year, the GOP’s entire schtick has been about how Obama hasn’t magically pulled America out of the “recession” we are in, right? Okay, so why don’t Republicans find it a little troubling that Mitt Romney, their front man, is more concerned with banning gay marriage and trying to overturn Roe V. Wade than with fixing the thing they’ve been acting like is the reason Obama is such a shit President?
Fuck off, Republicans.
What it comes down to is Obama’s skin color. If Obama was white, people would be praising him for everything he’s done, but because American culture is so anti-color and pro-white, we have this mindset that the black man must never succeed. Is Obama perfect? No. Has he helped this country put itself back on the right track? Definitely. So why is it we only focus on the things he hasn’t done as opposed to the several things he has?
Has anybody been watching the debates lately? You’ve got a governor whose state is on fire denying climate change. It’s true. You’ve got audiences cheering at the prospect of somebody dying because they don’t have healthcare and booing a service member in Iraq because they’re gay.
