So I think a lot of young people are hesitant to vote because “politics” is made into this unapproachable subject by pretentious ass people who try really hard to show how *aware* they are. Like if someone really wants to vote for president solely based on the issue of marijuana, or gay marriage, and know about nothing else, then why guilt them into not voting at all by trying to “expose” how “ignorant” they are? I’m a teenager in school who has no perception of what it’s like to make money or have money so of course I’m not going to care a lot about fiscal politics and naturally that’s not going to play a huge part in my vote. I’m not saying that people shouldn’t be more aware, but truth is just that a majority of young people (or people in general) don’t have the time or attention span to thoroughly research topics they don’t care about, so if they’re passionate enough about a certain issue to get their ass to the polls and vote, regardless for who it is, then good for them!!
